Non-accredited courses are endorsed by industry bodies but not registered as VET qualifications. Nationally accredited courses (like 11379NAT) result in a Statement of Attainment that’s listed on training.gov.au and regulated by ASQA. Your MHFA certificate is valid for 36 months (3 years). To maintain your certification, complete the 4-hour MHFA Refresher course before your certificate expires.
If your certificate expired within the last 3 months, you can complete the 4-hour Refresher course to renew. If it expired more than 3 months ago, you’ll need to complete the full 12-hour Standard MHFA course again.
